DONATE
The Association for Manitoba Archives Fund was established under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program (MHTP).
This is an investment in the long-term sustainable delivery of the support, training, advisory services, and advocacy work that the AMA provides to archivists, archives, and all those interested in the preservation and access of Manitoba's documentary heritage.
The dividends generated by the endowment fund will be used directly to support our membership.
The Winnipeg Foundation administers the MHTP for the provincial government and issues a tax receipt for all donations.
VOLUNTEER
The AMA would not exist without dedicated volunteer board and committees.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to network with other archivists and heritage workers. It provides members a chance to develop leadership and organizational skills. It is a great way for new professionals to build CV's and work alongside other Manitoba-based archivists. It is a truly wonderful opportunity for everyone to give back to the archival community.
Volunteers do not have to be archivists; we also welcome other heritage workers and those with an interest in archives and a skillset that supports our association work.
Join a Committee!
The AMA's committees are always looking for volunteers to work on initiatives and organize workshops and events. If you are interested in volunteering for a specific committee, contact the committee's chair to find out more.
Not sure which committee to join? You can contact the committees to find out more about the services they provide and what opportunities they have for volunteers. Contact information for individual committees can be found here.
Chair a Committee!
Committee chairs are required to attend monthly or semi-monthly board meetings from September to June every year. Committee chairs must be voted in by the membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which takes place in October. Elected board members serve a two year term and may resubmit their candidacy after the end of their term if desired.
