What we do

  • Advise on issues of concern to archives and archivists in Manitoba
  • Identify and develop activities required to enhance the awareness of archives in the province
  • Promote a better understanding and increased public awareness of the role and uses of archives
  • Draft news releases and other forms of communications as needed

Campaigns

The Information and Outreach Committee is currently involved in three major campaigns:

    • Advocating for a new facility for the City of Winnipeg Archives. For more information, please see the following documents:
        • Support for the University of Manitoba/University of Winnipeg Joint Master’s stream in Archival Studies.

          Resources

Both the Association of Canadian Archivists and the Canadian Council of Archives have been strong advocates for the archival community at a national level.  Examples of advocacy work and tools to assist archives in advocacy and public relations are available on their respective websites.  You can find those resources here.
